New Westminster – At approximately 4:00 AM on June 17, officers responded to a reported break and enter in the 800 block of Quayside Drive. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that suspects had forcibly entered a business. Officers conducted an extensive search of the area and located a suspect walking along the boardwalk, where he was arrested. Items stolen from the break and enter were recovered during the arrest. The suspect has been held for court and charges will be recommended to Crown Counsel.

“Our officers are working to determine if this suspect is connected to numerous other recent break and enter investigations,” stated Sergeant Andrew Leaver. “Our Street Crime Unit has now taken conduct of these investigations.”

New Westminster Police encourage residents to report any suspicious activity that could indicate a break-and-enter in progress. If you witness something that seems out of place, please call 9-1-1 immediately.
