New Westminster – The New Westminster Police Department Major Crime Unit is providing an update to an investigation following the discovery of a deceased man in the Downtown neighbourhood. The deceased man was discovered near Stewardson Way and Quebec Street on April 29.
The Major Crime Unit works in partnership with the BC Coroners Service and it was determined through medical examinations that no foul play is suspected in the cause of this man’s death.
“We recognize that this man had loved ones who are grieving this loss,” stated Sergeant Andrew Leaver. “Our thoughts are with them, and we hope the findings of this investigation provide some clarity and peace in a very difficult time.”
The Major Crime Unit led the investigation and received support from the Forensic Identification Unit and patrol officers. Investigators would like to thank the BC Coroners Service for their partnership as we worked to determine the circumstances of this man’s death.
