Police looking for thieves who stole New West Little League equipment

New Westminster – The New Westminster Police Department is asking the public for information or CCTV footage that may help in locating stolen equipment belonging to the New West Little League.

Between January and April thieves made off with a large green steel storage box which the league used to store baseball equipment. The box is Greenlee brand, measuring approximately 4 feet long by 2 feet deep by 2.5 feet high. The box was stolen from Grimston Park. The box and its contents are valued at approximately $3,000 and include baseball bats and bases some of which are marked with “NWBA”.

“These thieves are hurting our community by targeting local sports,” stated Sergeant Andrew Leaver. “Whatever the reason behind someone wanting to do this, they need to realize they are depriving our youth, our athletes, and our community as a whole with these thefts.”

Residents living near Grimston Park are asked to check CCTV for footage of the thefts. If you have any information you believe may further this investigation you’re asked to call the New Westminster Police Department and reference file number 24-80122.

The stolen box is very similar to this one pictured on the Greenlee website.
