Meet Constable Claus

New Westminster – The New Westminster Police Department is inviting families to a meet and greet with Constable Claus, the newest member of the New Westminster Police Department. At this event, Constable Claus and Elf will be collecting donations in support of the Don’t go Hungry Food Support Program. Families will be thanked for their donations with a photo opportunity with Constable Claus, festive treats, and face painting.

Meet Constable Claus on December 13th between 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm behind the New Westminster Police Department in the Clarkson Street parking lot. Nearby parking is available at the Front Street Parkade and on Church Street. You can learn more about ways to get to the New Westminster Police Department on our website: nwpolice.org/accessibility.

“Now more than ever we’re needing to look out for our neighbours,” stated Sergeant Andrew Leaver. “We’re calling on folks from across the city to please consider donating to help support those in need. Help us fill Constable Claus’s bag with donations for our friends at Don’t Go Hungry.”

Constable Claus and Elf will be collecting donations currently needed by Don’t Go Hungry: nut butters, canned meat, beans, chili, chunky style canned soups, fruit snacks, apple sauce, fruit cups, granola bars, dish soap, laundry soap, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, soap, toilet paper, feminine hygine products, diapers, and baby wipes. Cash donations will also be accepted. Don’t Go Hungry serves 1,500 people every Saturday, at four locations throughout New Westminster and South Burnaby. You can learn more about their work at dontgohungry.ca.
