New Westminster – It’s “game on” for the New Westminster Police Department Soccer School. Staff and volunteers are excited to announce that Soccer School will return to Queens Park in New Westminster July 17th to July 21st 2023.
This popular event is for children five to ten years of age who are interested in improving their soccer skills, having fun, and fostering a positive bond with local police and first responders.
“Sport has the power to unite people,” stated Chief Constable Dave Jansen. “It has been rewarding to hear from kids about their experience at Soccer School and what it was like for them to interact with police in this unique setting. We are looking forward to creating more positive experiences for kids this summer.”
“It’s been years since we’ve been able to host this event and we’re thrilled to be able to offer it again,” stated Deputy Chief Constable Paul Hyland. “Soccer School is a great way to get kids active, build self-confidence, and encourage team-building skills.”
Tickets are anticipated to sell out quickly. Parents and guardians are encouraged visit the New Westminster Police Department website on March 4th at 8:00 am to secure their tickets. Tickets are $150 (plus registration fees) per child, which includes five days of soccer instruction, t-shirt, and soccer ball. Soccer School runs from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm Monday to Friday.
The New Westminster Police Department would like to thank our community partners and sponsors for their continued support of this event.
