New Westminster – The New Westminster Police are appealing for witnesses after the rider of a scooter was injured after being struck by the driver of a white flatbed truck. The incident happened November 7th at approximately 1:00pm near the intersection of Royal Avenue and Blackie Street. The driver of the truck did not stop and continued driving westbound. The scooter rider was provided aid from NWPD officers.
“The rider of the scooter suffered minor injuries,” stated Sergeant Justine Thom. “If you witnessed this, or have any dash cam or CCTV footage, we’re asking you to come forward so police can identify the driver of this truck.”
Officers are canvassing the surrounding area for CCTV footage. Anyone with information is asked to call the New Westminster Police Department at 604-525-5411.
