UPDATE: A suspect has been arrested in connection to this incident and at this time is being held in police custody. Thank you to all the members of the public that assisted in this investigation.
New Westminster – On October 4th at approximately 2:00 pm the New Westminster Police Department were dispatched to Westminster Pier Park after an unprovoked attack on a teenager. The youth was taking photographs in the park when an unknown man punched the youth and fled the area.
“This cruel incident was very distressing for the young man,” stated Sergeant Justine Thom. “This is being treated extremely seriously. We are determined to find the offender and we are pursuing all lines of inquiry to track them down.”
The suspect is described as a white male with brown hair and dark facial hair wearing tan pants, a blue plaid jacket, red t-shirt, and black shoes.
