New Westminster – At approximately noon on September 12th 2022, the New Westminster Police Department received a 9-1-1 call from someone who had been assaulted near the 700 block of 22nd Street. The caller shared that a man had approached her and made sexualized comments before he assaulted her, knocked her to the ground, and kicked her. He then produced an item believed to be a knife and further threatened her.
Police searched the surrounding area for someone matching the suspect description, however no suspect could be located. The victim was transported to local hospital with minor injuries.
The suspect is described as male, approximately 30 years of age, standing 5’7” tall, with a medium build, and short black hair. The suspect spoke with an accent. At the time of the assault the suspect was wearing a blue t-shirt and grey pants.
“We’re asking the public to help us identify this suspect,” said Staff Sergeant Jeff Scott, “Please take a close look at the photograph. If this is someone you recognize we ask that you call police.”
