New Westminster – Sergeant Justine Thom has stepped into the role of Media Relations Officer at the New Westminster Police Department.
Sergeant Thom joined the New Westminster Police Department in 2009. In addition to spending her first five years on Patrol, Sergeant Thom spent three years on the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team and five years in the Major Crime Unit.
“This is a time of change at the New Westminster Police Department and I’m honoured to be in a role where I can share with the public what we’re working on,” stated Sergeant Thom. “We’re a progressive police department and are working hard to show we’re responsive to the needs of the public. If you have any questions, please send them our way. We treasure the opportunity to have conversations with the community.”
Policing has been a family tradition for Sergeant Thom, whose parent is a retired police officer. “My dad is very proud of what I have accomplished as well my commitment to this city and desire to make a positive difference for the community.”
