NWPD Investigate Interrupted Break and Enter

New Westminster – On April 28th 2022 at approximately 7:20 pm, New Westminster Police Department patrol officers responded to a break and enter in progress at a residence located in the 1000 block of Queens Avenue.

The resident was in his bedroom when he heard a loud noise coming from his living room. The resident went to inspect the noise and saw an unknown male behind his couch in his living room, holding a crowbar. The resident confronted the male, who then fled out the patio sliding door and ran toward 11th Street.

Numerous patrol officers attended the area, but the suspect has not yet been located.

The suspect male is described as a Caucasian male with medium length black curly hair, he has a full beard, stands 5’5” with a medium build. The suspect was wearing a dark blown jacket and runners.

“It is always disturbing when this kind of incident occurs, especially in someone’s home,” stated Staff Sergeant Jeff Scott. “We’re devoting several resources to help solve this investigation. Our Forensic Identification Unit attended to collect evidence and will be working with investigators to identify, locate and arrest the suspect.”
