New Westminster Police asking for the public’s help following pedestrian struck in hit and run

Update – As the investigation has progressed police now believe the suspect vehicle does not have front end damage. Any witnesses who saw a white Mercedes C300 in the area of Victoria and Lorne street just after 6 a.m. on the morning of January 1st are asked to call police. If you have any dash cam footage from this area on the morning of January 1st you are asked to reach out to investigators at 604-525-5411.

 

New Westminster – The New Westminster Police Department is seeking public assistance as investigators work to locate the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit and run collision that sent a man to hospital with serious injuries.

Officers were called to the intersection of Victoria and Lorne street just after 6 a.m. this morning, January 1st, after a pedestrian was struck by the driver of a white Mercedes C300. The driver of the vehicle did not stop and it is believed this vehicle sustained front end damage as a result of this collision. The incident was captured on CCTV camera. 

“We’re asking everyone to take a close look at the vehicle in the photo,” Stated Sergeant Sanjay Kumar. “We’re looking for information about a white Mercedes C300 that most likely has sustained some amount of front end damage. If you know of any vehicles that match that description please contact us right away.”

The pedestrian was provided aid from NWPD officers and was transported to hospital by B.C. Emergency Health Services paramedics.
