New Westminster – On December 20th at approximately 2:30 am the New Westminster Police Department received a 9-1-1 call from a security guard who was monitoring a live video feed of a local car dealership. The suspect had entered the dealership and was observed getting into a vehicle.
When officers arrived the suspect fled on foot; however; shortly after he complied with police direction and was arrested without incident.
Crown Counsel has approved break and enter charges against 43-year-old Vancouver resident, James Ginther.
“We are recommending both car dealerships and construction sites invest in a monitored security system,” stated Sergeant Kumar. “Thanks to this foresight, officers were quickly contacted and were able to make a safe arrest.”
