New Westminster – On August 8th at approximately 2:00 am, the New Westminster Police Department received a report of a stabbing at the Paramount Gentleman’s Club in downtown New Westminster. Upon arrival, patrol officers located the victim and provided life-saving first aid until BC Ambulance arrived. The victim was transported to hospital where he received care for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Two suspects were located a short distance away. They were both safely arrested following a short foot pursuit. The New Westminster Police Department Major Crime Unit has assumed conduct of the investigation. The New Westminster Forensic Identification Section was called to process the scene.

“At this time, we believe this is an isolated incident,” stated Sergeant Sanjay Kumar. “There may be additional witnesses to this assault that have yet to speak to police, and we are encouraging those people to come forward.”
