New Westminster –On February 2, the New Westminster Police Department received a report of a man allegedly using a knife to break into a vehicle in the Sapperton neighbourhood.
When New Westminster Police Department officers arrived the suspect could be seen inside the vehicle. The suspect was arrested and the New Westminster Police Department will be recommending charges connected to mischief to vehicle and breach of court ordered conditions.
“We want to thank the citizen that called 9-1-1 to report this crime in progress,” stated Sergeant Sanjay Kumar. “Residents are our eyes and ears and when crimes are reported to us we can make arrests such as this one and dedicate additional resources to areas of the city which are seeing an increase in crime.”
