New Westminster – On September 13 at 7:54 pm, the New Westminster Fire & Rescue Service responded to a fire at Westminster Pier Park. The timber wharf section at the eastern end of the park sustained significant damage. Firefighters have contained the blaze, but it continues to burn.
At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown and the New Westminster Police Department’s Major Crime Unit has been called in to assist fire investigators in determining a cause.
Police are asking anyone with information about the fire to please contact Major Crime Unit investigators at 604-525-5411.
