New Westminster – On May 24th, 2020, the New Westminster Police Department began searching for missing person Gavin Deloes who was last seen leaving the Royal Columbian Hospital at 7:30am.
Mr. Deloes was seen by a witness at approximately 8:15am near Holmes Street and Garfield Street, and then again between 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm in the parking lot of Cariboo Road Christian Fellowship church. The New Westminster Police Department, Coquitlam Search and Rescue, and family members of Mr. Deloes have been searching in the area around Cariboo Hill since that time.
On May 27th at approximately 8:30 pm, a member of the public found items belonging to Mr. Deloes in the green space behind the Salvation Army Cariboo Hill Temple. Items included his slippers, socks, hospital gown, ipod, and mouthwash. New Westminster Police Department officers, with a police service dog, extensively searched the area until calling off the search due to darkness and terrain in the area making it unsafe to continue.
The New Westminster Police Department, Coquitlam Search and Rescue, and family and friends of Mr. Deloes continue to search the area around the Cariboo Hill Temple today. This area is a large green space that includes a trail network that runs between the residential area of Cariboo Heights to the south, Highway 1 to the west, and the Cariboo Temple to the north.
Mr. Deloes is described as 42 years old, 5’11”, tall with a slim build, short black hair, and may only be wearing black boxer shorts.
“We continue to ask the public to help us locate Mr. Deloes”, stated Staff Sergeant Stuart Jette. “If you see Mr. Deloes please call 9-1-1 immediately.”

New Westminster – The New Westminster Police Department is seeking public assistance in the search for missing person Gavin Deloes.
Mr. Deloes was last seen at approximately 7:30 am on May 24th, near Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster. Mr. Deloes is described as 42 years old, 5’11” tall with a slim build, short black hair, with a scar between his eyes, wearing a blue hospital gown and slippers.
“We are asking the public to help us locate this man to ensure his well-being,” stated Sergeant Jeff Scott. “His family is extremely worried for him. If you see Mr. Deloes please call 9-1-1 immediately.”
