Non-Emergency 604-525-5411

Emergency 9-1-1

Online reporting now available through MobilePD app

New Westminster – The New Westminster Police Department is announcing a new feature on their MobilePD app, which allows users to submit non-emergency police reports.

“This update is another example of our department using technology to enhance our customer service,” stated Chief Constable Dave Jones. “We expect online reporting to make it both easier for people to report crime to us and to free up police officer time that can be better spent responding to high-priority calls and providing proactive policing in our communities.”

The kinds of crimes that can be reported through online reporting include: lost property, community complaints, graffiti, theft under $5,000, mischief under $5,000, driving complaints, and hit and runs where there are no witnesses or video surveillance.

When the reporting process is complete, residents receive a case tracking number and a temporary report that can be printed for their records or for filing insurance claims. Online reports are then reviewed by police officers, and entered into the records management system. The reports receive the same investigation and statistical analysis as if they had been reported traditionally.

Online reporting can also be accessed through our website www.nwpolice.org under the services tab. Reports can still be filed in person at the New Westminster Police Department, by calling our non-emergency line at 604-525-5411. For all crimes in progress, emergency situations, or any violent crimes, call 911.
