New Westminster – The New Westminster Police Department is currently investigating a single vehicle collision at the intersection of Holmes Street and East Columbia Street. A mid-sized roll-off bin truck was traveling down Holmes Street, but did not stop at the intersection of East Columbia Street, traveled through the intersection and over the embankment.
“Thankfully, no one was injured from this collision,” stated Media Relations Officers Sergeant Jeff Scott. “The New Westminster Police Commercial Vehicle Unit is currently investigating to determine if there was a mechanical problem with the truck or if it was driver error.”
Tow trucks are now on scene to remove the vehicle from the embankment.
