Joshua Boden Arrested and Charged

New Westminster – On May 9th 2018 at approximately 8:45am, 31 year old New Westminster resident Joshua Boden was arrested after an assault investigation.

On May 6th 2018 the New Westminster Police Department received a report of a domestic dispute that occurred between a male and a female. The suspect, Mr. Boden, was not on scene when the officers arrived, and attempts were made to locate and arrest him based on the evidence from the investigation.

After officers from the Crime Suppression Team and Street Crime Unit searched for him, Mr. Boden was located in the unit block of 6th Street, and subsequently arrested without incident.

Mr. Boden has been charged with the following offences:

  1. Two counts of Assault, section 266 of the Criminal Code of Canada;
  2. One count of Fail to Comply with Conditions of Recognizance, section 145(3) of the Criminal Code of Canada;
  3. One count of Dangerous Driving, section 249(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada; and,
  4. One count of Drive while Prohibited, section 95(1) of the Motor Vehicle Act of British Columbia.

“We’re thankful that he was located only a few days after the alleged offenses and that there were no issues during his arrest,” stated Sergeant Jeff Scott. “Because this matter is before the courts we are unable to comment further, but in any case of alleged violence we encourage people to speak up and report it to the police.”

Mr. Boden remains in-custody to appear in court on May 16th, 2018.
