Domestic Violence: It’s Never OK

Join us on April 24 as we bring attention to the devastating impact that domestic violence has on families and children.

The Purple Lights Campaign raises awareness and provides public education through its annual campaign, which has run for eight years. The colour purple is recognized as the international colour symbolic of domestic violence.

The New Westminster Police Department will hang strings of purple lights in support during the week of April 17th – 24th, 2016. We would like to encourage all residents to take a few minutes to affix a purple light to their home or workplace, to shine more light on the need to stop domestic violence.

A candle light vigil will be on the steps of City Hall in New Westminster April 24th at 5:30pm. All are welcome.
