NWPD Investigates Serious Collision

New Westminster – On November 7th 2016 at approximately 2:30pm, the New Westminster Police responded to the 800 block of McBride Boulevard for a pedestrian-involved collision. An adult female was driving north in the 800 block of McBride Boulevard, when an elderly female crossed the street mid-block. The driver was unable to stop before colliding into the pedestrian, who was subsequently transported to hospital with serious injuries.

“Our Collision Analyst and Reconstruction Team attended and conducted an analysis of the collision scene and investigators have spoken with the driver and witnesses,” stated Media Relations Officer Acting Sergeant Jeff Scott. “Although it is too early in this investigation to say what all the contributing factors are, we want to remind all pedestrians to use caution when crossing the street and we encourage everyone to use marked crosswalks.”

Anyone who may have witnessed this collision is asked to contact the New Westminster Police Traffic Unit at 604-525-5411.
