NWPD Seek Public Assistance to Locate Missing Person

New Westminster – The NWPD is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 79 year old Donald Laird of New Westminster, BC. Mr. Laird was last seen leaving a local hospital on McBride Boulevard in New Westminster on October 5th at approximately 6:00pm. Mr. Laird is known to frequent coffee shops and is believed to be in Downtown Vancouver.

He is described as a Caucasian male who stands 5’5”, weighing approximately 185 pounds, balding with grey hair and a grey beard. Mr. Laird was last seen wearing a black jacket with fur on the hood and grey sweatpants, and carrying a black backpack that has a white stripe on it, and a wooden cane.

“We’re concerned for Mr. Lairds’s well-being because he is believed to have onset of dementia,” stated Media Relations Officer Acting Sergeant Jeff Scott. “If you see Mr. Laird or know where he may be, we would like to hear from you.”

Anyone with information about Mr. Laird’s whereabouts is asked to call the local police.
