An adult female from Surrey was travelling north bound over the Pattullo Bridge when she crossed over the centre pylon dividers and collided with over 30 oncoming vehicles. She continued driving before coming to a stop after colliding into a concrete barrier.

The driver was arrested and later released with an Administrative Driving Prohibition. After an extensive investigation by the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Team, Surrey resident 30 year old Jillian Bodner was charged with the following offences:

  1. Dangerous Driving, section 249(1)(a) of the Criminal Code;
  2. Impaired Driving, section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code; and,
  3. Driving while over .08, section 253(1)(b).

“We certainly are thankful that no one was hurt from these collisions,” stated Media Relations Officer Acting Sergeant Jeff Scott. “We want to remind drivers that if you’re going to drink, plan a safe ride home before going out.”
