New Westminster – The NWPD would like to inform the community about an incident that occurred on March 8th 2016, during which a young female was approached by a suspicious vehicle in the in the 200 block of 3rd Avenue, in New Westminster.
The male driver of the vehicle asked the young female to get inside the vehicle as he opened the driver’s door. The female refused and fled the area on foot.
The suspect vehicle was described as an older model red panel van, and the male driver was described as a Caucasian male, in his 50’s or 60’s, with grey hair, grey beard/moustache, and wearing a straw cowboy hat.
Officers of the NWPD Major Crime Unit are actively investigating the incident as a priority, and have increased uniformed patrols in the area.
The New Westminster Police would like to ask the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity.
