New Westminster – On February 16th 2016 the New Westminster Police Department received a theft report. An excavator was parked in the area of 8th Street and 6th Avenue was stolen sometime overnight. The excavator is a yellow 35D John Deer valued at $65,000 with Horizon Landscape Contractors’ stickers on it and has a broken bottom right window.
“A piece of machinery this size would need to be hauled by a flat deck truck or pick-up truck with a trailer,” stated Media Relations Officer Acting Sergeant Jeff Scott. “We are asking if anyone has information, or was in the area overnight and saw it being loaded, to please call us.”
The NWPD is seeking the public assistance in locating the stolen excavator and is asking for anyone who may have witnessed the theft to please call the investigating officer, Corporal Fortier at 604-525-5411.
