New Westminster – On January 1st 2016 at approximately 4:30am, members of the NWPD investigated a personal robbery in Moody Park. The two suspects were fleeing on foot after committing a personal robbery at a gas station in Burnaby. While running through Moody Park the suspects approached another group of people and attempted to steal a phone from a member of the group but were unsuccessful and again fled on foot.
NWPD Patrol Officers were able to locate the two suspects nearby. As a result of the investigation, 18 year old Abdi Bulle of Burnaby and a youth female, who cannot be named due to her age, have been charged with the following offences:
1. Robbery – section 344 Criminal Code in New Westminster
2. Robbery – section 344 Criminal Code in Burnaby
The youth was also charged with Assault – Section 266 Criminal Code in New Westminster.
“The adult male has been remanded in custody to appear before the courts, while the youth female suspect has been released with numerous conditions,” stated Media Relations Officer Acting Sergeant Jeff Scott.
