Emergency 9-1-1

Two collisions – One involving police vehicle

New Westminster – On December 22nd 2015 at approximately 11:15pm members of the NWPD responded to the 900 block of 12th Street for a report of a cyclist who was struck by a vehicle. The cyclist, an adult male who lives in New Westminster, was transported by BC Ambulance to a local area hospital where his injuries were determined to be minor.

While on route to the collision, a New Westminster Police officer was travelling west bound on 10th Avenue when they collided with another vehicle at Canada Way. The officer and the driver of the other vehicle were transported to a local area hospital by BC Ambulance, and later released by doctors.

“Because the collision that involved the NWPD officer occurred on the north side of 10th Avenue, the Burnaby RCMP is investigating,” stated Media Relations Officer Acting Sergeant Scott. “We’re thankful that no one was seriously injured in either of these collisions.”
