Robbery Suspect Charged

New Westminster – On December 8th 2015, the NWPD investigated a robbery that took place at a bank in the uptown area of New Westminster. The next day, a second robbery occurred at a different bank in the same neighbourhood. Over the course of the investigation, the NWPD Major Crime Unit identified 51 year-old Dana Scott Dacey of Chilliwack, BC.

Mr. Dacey was later arrested in Vancouver, by the VPD who investigated four additional robberies that he is suspected of committing between December 8th and 10th, 2015. Mr. Dacey is currently charged and in custody for the following offences:

1. Two counts of Robbery – section 344 Criminal Code in New Westminster

2. Three counts of Robbery – section 344 Criminal Code in Vancouver

3. One count of Robbery – Section 344(1)(b) Criminal Code in Vancouver

“Robberies have an element of violence and are dangerous for the public,” stated Media Relations Officer Acting Sergeant Jeff Scott. “The efforts of our detectives and officers from the VPD, led to the successful arrest of Mr. Dacey, who will be appearing before the courts for these offences.”
