New Westminster – On November 20th 2015 at approximately 2:00pm NWPD patrol officers attended a residence in the 200 block of Ross Drive for a report of a break and enter in progress. A homeowner had arrived home to find a suspect inside his residence who had pried the patio door open to gain entry. When the suspect was confronted, he fled on foot, but the homeowner gave chase. NWPD patrol officers attended the area quickly, and the suspect was located a short distance from the residence.
43 year-old, Franklin John Hall, of Surrey, BC was arrested and charged with the following offenses:

- Two counts of Breach of his Recognizance section 145(3) of the Criminal Code,
- One count of Assault section 267(a) of the Criminal Code.
Mr. Hall remains in custody to appear in court.
“The quick response of officers led to the successful arrest of the suspect, who is currently in custody,” stated NWPD Media Relations Officer Acting Sergeant Jeff Scott. “Although we do not recommend homeowners chasing suspects, we do want to acknowledge the bravery of this homeowner, which led to the successful apprehension of Mr. Hall.”
