New Westminster – On September 25th, 2015 at approximately 2:10pm, NWPD responded to the Scotia Bank in the 700 block of Columbia Street, New Westminster for a report of a robbery. The suspect male stole cash and fled on foot. Patrols officers, along with officers from the NWPD Street Crime Unit quickly responded and located the suspect a short distance away. The suspect male was arrested and transported to the New Westminster Police Department. The NWPD Major Crime Unit has assumed conduct of the investigation.
“The immediate and quick response of officers led to the successful arrest of the suspect, who is currently in custody” stated NWPD media relations officer Acting Sergeant Jeff Scott. “The investigation is on-going, and no further details can be released at this time.”
