New Westminster – On August 6th 2015 at approximately 6:00pm, members of the NWPD and Surrey RCMP responded to the Pattullo Bridge for a multi-vehicle collision. An adult female from Surrey was travelling north bound over the Pattullo Bridge when she crossed over the centre pylon dividers and collided with several south bound vehicles in Surrey and seven more vehicles in New Westminster, with no reported injuries. She continued north bound over the Pattullo Bridge when she collided into a concrete barrier at the north end where she came to a stop.
Members of the NWPD arrived on scene and arrested the driver for impaired driving and transported her to the New Westminster Police station to obtain samples of her breath. She was subsequently released with an Administrative Driving Prohibition and her vehicle was held for a mechanical inspection. At this time, the impaired driving investigation is on-going with the possibility of charges being forwarded to Crown Counsel.
