Male Arrested and Charged for Break and Enter

New Westminster – On July 9th 2015 at approximately 7:45 am, NWPD responded to the 400 block of Queens Avenue for a report of a residential break and enter in progress. A home owner noticed a male trying to open his dining room window which was partially ajar, in an attempt to gain entry to the residence. When the home owner confronted the male he stated he was trying to find his aunt and uncle’s house, before walking away.

Members of the NWPD quickly responded to the area and located the male as he walked away from the home. Brian Louis Bylo, a 34 year old Surrey resident, was subsequently arrested and charged with the following criminal offence:

  1. Break and Enter – Sections 348(1)(a) and 463 of the Criminal Code.

“The immediate and quick response of officers led to the successful arrest of the suspect, who is currently in custody awaiting his first appearance in court,” stated NWPD media relations officer Acting Sergeant Jeff Scott. “We also want to remind the public that people can take advantage of open windows or doors at any time of day. With the summer heat, it is common to have windows and doors open, and we encourage everyone to be mindful of securing them.”
