Former NWPD member to face criminal charges

New Westminster – In March 2015, as a result of an internal theft investigation, the NWPD terminated the employment of one of its sworn members.

As a result of the initial internal theft investigation, Crown Counsel has approved the following charges against Adam Spindor, who had eight years of service with the NWPD prior to his termination:

  1. Theft of money, the property of the New Westminster Police Department, Street Crime Unit, contrary to Section 334 of the Criminal Code of Canada;
  2. Breach of Trust by committing theft, contrary to Section 122 of the Criminal Code of Canada;
  3. Theft of money and other items, the property of the City of New Westminster, Police Department, contrary to Section 334 of the Criminal Code of Canada.

As this matter is now before the courts, the NWPD is not in a position to provide further details at this time.
