There has been an increase in mail theft in apartment and strata buildings. Thieves break-in to the building and vandalize mail boxes in order to steal credit cards, cheques and your identity.
- Report all suspicious or criminal activity to the police.
- Pick up your mail as soon as possible and do not leave it in your mailbox overnight.
- Do not allow strangers to follow you into the lobby of your building.
- If you are planning to be away, Canada Post can hold your mail at the delivery office, or you can arrange for a neighbour to pick it up.
