New Westminster – In March of 2013, the NWPD Major Crime Unit initiated an investigation into the actions of a New Westminster resident relating to the possession of child pornography.
In August of that same year, New Westminster Crown Counsel approved the following two charges against then 50 year old Steven Keith Roth of New Westminster:
- One count of Importing, distributing, selling or possessing for the purposes of distribution or sale child pornography – Section 163.1(3) Criminal Code
- One count of Possessing Child Pornography – Section 163.1(4) Criminal Code
On February 23, 2015 Steven Keith Roth of New Westminster was found guilty on both charges relating to this matter. Mr. Roth has been released from custody and is currently bound by a lengthy list of court imposed conditions until he returns to court for sentencing on June 24, 2015.
As there is a publication ban in place for this matter, the NWPD will not be able to make any further comments in relation to this investigation.
