NWPD make arrest on local business owner

New Westminster – On September 10, 2014 the NWPD responded to the 600 block of 12th Street for the report of a fight taking place.  After members arrived, they learned that a suspect had assaulted a local merchant outside of his store and then fled the area.

The victim of the assault suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries during the attack.  Due to the seriousness of the incident, the NWPD Major Crime Unit took over the investigation.

On February 19th, 2015, 29 year old David Faucher, a New Westminster resident was arrested by members of the NWPD Major Crime Unit in relation to this incident.  David Faucher has been charged with the following criminal offences:

  1. One count of Robbery – Section 344 of the Criminal Code
  2. One count of Aggravated Assault – Section 268 of the Criminal Code
  3. One count of Possession of Counterfeit Money – Section 450 of the Criminal Code
  4. One count of Uttering Counterfeit Money – Section 452 of the Criminal Code

David Faucher has been released from custody and is bound by a lengthy list of court imposed conditions while awaiting his next court appearance on March 4th, 2015.
