New Westminster – On January 15, 2015 shortly after 2:00 am, members of the NWPD responded to the 1300 block of Stewardson Way for a report of an unconscious male lying in the bushes along the south side of the street. Members also located a damaged mountain bike on the roadway nearby.
The cyclist, a 43 year old resident of New Westminster, was transported to a local area hospital for assessment of what appear to be non-life threatening injuries. Investigators are still trying to determine the events that led to the male being found in the bushes, as it was initially believed he may have been struck by a passing vehicle as he rode his bike on Stewardson Way, but this has yet to be confirmed.
This occurrence remains under investigation while investigators speak with the cyclist to determine the chain of events. If you have any information related to this incident, please contact Cst. Basran at 604-525-5411.
