New Westminster – NWPD Detectives were contacted this morning by hospital staff in Saint Hyacinthe, Quebec after Izumi Aoyama showed up at the local hospital on her own accord. It is unknown how Aoyama came to arrive at the hospital which is located more than 5000 kilometers from the City of New Westminster.
Aoyama, who had been residing in New Westminster after entering Canada as a refugee in July of 2014 was initially reported to the NWPD as missing in early November. Aoyama will remain at hospital for observation while staff at that location liaise with local authorities in Quebec.
