UPDATE: NWPD Request the Public’s Assistance to Identify Thief

UPDATE: We’d like to thank the public for your help in identifying the suspect below. She has now been located.

New Westminster – The New Westminster Police are asking the assistance of the public to help identify a female that has stolen money from unsuspecting victims. On April 18, 2014 at 2:33 pm, the suspect approached a male in the 500 block of 7th Street and tried to sell some small items. When he refused to purchase any of the items, the suspect reached into the victim’s pocket and grabbed $60 before fleeing the area.

On May 12, 2014 at 2:39 pm, the suspect approached a female at 6th Street and 6th Avenue and asked her to break a $50 bill. When the victim took out her money, she grabbed it and ran south on 6th Street.

The suspect was captured on surveillance video and the below noted photos were obtained.

Description:

-Caucasian female

-35-40 years old

-5’8”

-Medium build

-Wearing a pink and grey hoodie

-Blue jeans

-Light coloured runners with pink laces.
