New Westminster – On May 15, 2014 at approximately 9:30 pm, the New Westminster Police received a call of a stabbing at an apartment building in the 400 block of 8th Street.

NWPD patrol officers responded to the scene and located an adult male victim suffering from stab injuries. The male was subsequently transported to a local area hospital where the injuries were determined to be non life-threatening. The victim remains in hospital in stable condition.

The NWPD Major Crime Unit has now taken over this investigation and is actively pursuing a number of avenues to locate the suspect involved. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’11” tall, slim build, 20-30 years of age, short black hair with a black moustache and goatee, wearing a dark hoodie with the hood pulled up tight around his face.

While Major Crime Unit members are still working on possible motives for this attack, at this stage it is not believed to be a random act, nor is it believed to be gang related.
