NWPD investigation results in male facing serious charges in US

New Westminster – In October of 2013, the New Westminster Police received a complaint from a New Westminster family involving their teenage daughter and inappropriate images being transmitted over the internet with an unknown suspect in the United States. The NWPD conducted an initial investigation, later turning the results over to the Federal Bureau of Investigation who continued to investigate the matter.

On March 11, 2014, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that a 20 year old male, Taylor Bzdyr, had been indicted by a federal grand jury in Scranton, Pennsylvania on charges of producing child pornography and online enticement of a minor.

If convicted, Bzdyr faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison and a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison for the child pornography charge, and a 10-year mandatory minimum sentence and a possible life sentence if he is convicted of online enticement of a minor.
