Charges approved in fatal pedestrian accident

New Westminster – On March 12, 2013, Gemma Snowball was struck by a motor vehicle in the intersection of 6th Street and 6th Avenue in New Westminster and passed away as the result of her injuries.

The New Westminster Police Department conducted an extensive investigation which included the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Team along with independent experts who were able to assist with the investigation.

Today, New Westminster Crown Counsel has approved charges against the driver, twenty-nine year old Ryan Follack, a Kelowna resident, as follows:

1.) Drive Without Due Care S. 144(1)(a) of the BC Motor Vehicle Act; and
2.) Drive without Reasonable Consideration S. 144(1)(b) of the BC Motor Vehicle Act.

The first scheduled court appearance for the accused Follack is scheduled for March 26, 2014 in New Westminster.
