Victim of the December 17, 2013 assault in New Westminster has died as a result of the injuries he suffered while the suspect tried to rob him.
“Unfortunately I can now confirm that this tragic incident has claimed the life of 19 year old Karim MESKINE. Karim was the innocent victim of an unprovoked attack and was found unconscious by a passerby who called 9-1-1 for help. Karim’s family are devastated by this incident and are at a loss for words. This is one of the saddest cases I have been a part of all these years at IHIT.” Says Sergeant Bari EMAM of IHIT.
The suspect in this case was charged with Aggravated Assault and Assault with a Weapon yesterday. Investigators will be meeting with Crown Counsel to recommend murder charges in the coming week.
