New Westminster – The New Westminster Police Department has partnered with New Westminster businesses to launch the Inadmissible Patron Program, which seeks to increase patron and staff safety by deterring gang and violent criminal activities in the city businesses. The program is in its early stages and is currently looking for businesses to participate in the program.
“We encourage New Westminster businesses to join our network of establishments dedicated to fostering a safe and enjoyable customer experience,” said Chief Constable Dave Jones. “Help shut the door on those who could pose a threat to the safety of your staff and patrons.”
The Inadmissible Patron Program is open to any business in the City of New Westminster and there is no cost to join. Once approved, the business will display a decal on their window to show that they are part of program and have agreed that individuals and groups involved in gang and/or violent criminal activity are not welcome. By signing onto the program, the business gives authorization to the New Westminster Police Department to act on their behalf in removing or barring such individuals from the premises.
