A New Westminster police officer is being treated for non life threatening injuries after colliding with a stolen vehicle in the intersection of 4th Avenue and 12th Street at approximately 9:03 pm on September 1st. The NWPD member was working patrol and operating a marked police vehicle when the collision occurred.

The passenger of the stolen vehicle remained at the scene and was apprehended by the police. The driver fled on foot and remains at large.
The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Team has been called out to investigate the collision.
