The New Westminster Police are seeking public assistance in identifying the person or persons responsible for some overnight vandalism to the field and outbuildings at Mercer Stadium.
On June 14th, 2013 at approximately 12:10 am, an NWPD member on routine patrol discovered several instances of vandalism involving the dripping and spraying of paint on the field and various other locations inside the stadium.
Parks, Culture and Recreation staff are now in the process of cleaning up the mess left behind; it is believed the clean-up costs will be significant and may prevent use of the field for a period of time.
Police investigators located and seized several paint and spray cans which they believe were used in the incident and they are hoping their publication may assist the public in identifying whoever is responsible for this incident.
Anyone having information about this incident is asked to contact Constable Nick FERGUSON at 604-525-5411 or Metro Vancouver Crimestoppers at 1 800-222-8477.
