Property Crime Offenders Arrested

The New Westminster Police had a busy, albeit successful Friday nightshift, arresting a total of five Property Crime Offenders in two separate incidents.

On March 23rd, 2013 at approximately 7:40 pm, NWPD members responded to an alarm at Richard McBride Elementary School at 331 Richmond Street. Three males were arrested leaving the building while another male, believed to acting as a lookout, was arrested a short distance away. Further investigation revealed that all four subjects, each of them a New Westminster resident ranging in age from 14 to 17 years old, had broken into the school by prying an outside door. Three of the suspects were turned over to their guardians while one was held in custody due to a prior history with police.

And in the early hours of March 24th, at approximately 3:20 am, NWPD received notification of a Bait Car activation in the City’s West End. Members responded to the area and located the vehicle in the 2000 block of London Street, where the vehicle was disabled and the lone occupant taken into custody. The male in this instance, a 17 year old New Westminster resident, was also a Young Offender and cannot be named, however he is facing several charges in relation to the theft of the vehicle.
