On January 29th, 2013 at approximately 11:23 pm, a forty year old male resident of New Westminster was assaulted in his apartment located in the 400 Block of 8th Street. Four unknown males entered his suite and assaulted the victim and then stole over $400 in cash. The victim was able to go to his neighbor’s apartment who then called 911 for assistance.
The New Westminster Police Department members responded to the scene and deployed the K-9 unit to locate the suspects, but they had fled the scene. The victim is currently in hospital being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The New Westminster Police Department Major Crime Unit is investigating the assault. Investigators believe the attack to be targeted and not random in nature.
