On December 27th, 2012 at 6:17 am, the New Westminster Police received a call from a resident in the 500 Block of Colby Street advising that they heard a disturbance from their basement suite. They advised that they heard 3-4 bangs which sounded like gun shots.
The New Westminster Police arrived on scene shortly thereafter and located a deceased male in the basement suite. The identity of the male and cause of death is unknown at this time.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has taken over the investigation and the death is deemed suspicious.
