NWPD Arrest Prolific Theft from Auto Suspect

Over the last several weeks, the New Westminster Police Department has been working to identify a male suspect in several incidents of theft from vehicles, mischief and break & enter.  The male was targeting the Sapperton area of New Westminster.

On November 29th, 2012, twenty-six year old Richard Johnson McAfee was arrested and charge approval was granted by Crown Counsel on November 30th for the following offences:

  • 1 count Break and Enter
  • 18 counts of Theft Under $5000
  • 12 counts of Mischief

The arrest comes after a collaborative effort by the NWPD’s Patrol Division, the Street Crime Unit and the Forensic Identification Unit.  McAfee remains in custody until his next court date December 4, 2012.
